At JMS Masonry, our tagline, "Restoring Beauty, Preserving History," is more than just a catchy phrase. It’s a simple way of explaining what we do and why it matters, especially here in the Greater Boston area.

Bringing Old Boston Buildings Back to Life

Boston is full of historic buildings, from classic brick row houses to old commercial spaces that have been around for generations. These buildings give the city its character, but they also come with a lot of challenges. Bricks wear down, mortar crumbles, and sometimes whole sections need a serious update.

When we say "Restoring Beauty," we’re talking about making these old buildings look great again. We carefully clean and repair the brickwork to make it strong and attractive, without losing the unique charm that makes the building special. Sometimes that means matching the original bricks (which takes a skilled masonry restoration company). Other times, it’s about carefully replacing damaged sections without making it look like a patch job.

Preserving History in Boston

"Preserving History" is the other half of what we do. In Boston, history is everywhere. Whether it’s a historic home in Beacon Hill or an old storefront in the North End, these buildings tell the story of the city. We take that seriously.

When we work on a project, we make sure we’re using the right materials and techniques to keep the building as authentic as possible. Sometimes that means using old-school methods that modern masonry has moved away from. These extra steps are worth it to keep that historic feel.

Working on Residential and Commercial Projects

Our team works on both residential and commercial properties. For homeowners, it might be restoring a crumbling brick facade or fixing a chimney that’s seen better days. For commercial buildings, it’s often about keeping the exterior looking good while making sure the structure stays safe and up to code.

In both cases, we’re focused on keeping the building true to its original design while making it strong enough to last for many more years. Whether it’s a small touch-up or a major restoration, we’re committed to quality craftsmanship every step of the way.

Why Building Restoration Matters to Us

At JMS Masonry, we love seeing a building go from worn out and faded to looking like it did decades ago. It’s rewarding to know we’re helping keep Boston’s history alive. Plus, it’s rewarding to know that our work will be around for decades to come.

When you see a beautifully restored brick building in the city, it’s not just about looks. It’s about keeping the story alive.
